Immunologic Studies From Normal Bone Marrow Donors and Volunteers for the Study of CMV
Normal Volunteers for the study of CMV
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are a healthy adult who has a particular type of HLA (protein capable of causing an immune response). The purpose of this study is to collect blood and skin biopsy samples for laboratory studies to help develop a vaccine to prevent cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. CMV is a severe, life-threatening infection that occurs in patients undergoing marrow transplantation. Your participation in this study is expected to last two years.

Patients Concurrently Infected with HCV or HBV and CMV
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are an adult who has a hepatitis C virus (HCV) or hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. The purpose of this study is collect blood for laboratory studies to better understand the interaction of both the hepatitis viruses and the cytomegaloviruses (CMV). CMV is a severe, life-threatening infection that occurs in patients undergoing marrow transplantation. HCV and HBV are viruses that cause inflammation of the liver. Your participation in this study is expected to last two years.
