PHII-73 NCI #7518: A Phase II Study of VEGF Trap (NSC 724770) in Patients with MDS
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are have myelodysplasic syndrome (MDS) of a grade defined as requiring transfusion support and/or not responding to other therapies. The purpose of this study is evaluate the effects of the investigational agent VEGF Trap against MDS in terms of improvement in blood tests, overall survival, and progression (worsening of disease). The study will also evaluate the side effects of VEGF Trap. In addition, laboratory studies will be done to better understand the effects on MDS. Your participation in this study is expected to last a minimum of one cycle of treatment (14 days). If you are tolerating treatment and your medical condition is not getting worse, you will be able to receive additional cycles of treatment. After you discontinue treatment, you will be followed for approximately 6 weeks for follow-up. Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:
