UVa seeks people aged 1-65 with Delvelopmental spondylolysis or spondlylolithesis for a research study.
UVa Health System, Department of Pediatrics, Orthopedics Division seeks people aged 1 to 65 with Developmental spondylolysis or spondylolisthesis (Wiltse type I or II), for a research study. Spondylolysis is a defect in the connection between vertebrae, the bones that make up the spinal column. This defect can lead to small stress fractures (breaks) in the vertebrae that can weaken the bones so much that one slips out of place and lead to spondylolisthesis.
The purpose of this study is collect information about how spondylolysis progresses and whether the progression of the condition can be predicted by measuring your back and hip bones. Study involves answering questionnaires after 4 regular clinic visits at Kluge Childrens Rehabilitation Center.
