Thearpy for Partial Seizures
We are conducting a clinical research study for voluteers
diagnosed with Epilepsy experiencing partial seizures while on
anti-epileptic medications. This study tests the efficacy, safety
and tolerability of an investigational drug as adjunctive therapy
in subjects with Refractory partial seizures.
Study Criteria:
- Age 16+
- Diagnosed with Epilepsy for at least 1 year with partial
seizures
- CT or MRI within the past 5 years
- History of inadequate response to at least 1 AED
- Current treatment with 1 to 2 approved antiepileptic drugs and
taking a stable dose for 2 months prior to screening
- Vagal nerve stimulator (VNS) is not considered an AED
- No seizure free period for more than 3 weeks
- No progressive neurological disorder such as a brain tumor,
demyelinating disease, and degenerative CNS disease
- No history of status epilepticus, primarily generalized
seizures, clustering or nonepileptic seizures
- No history of current serious systemic disease such as liver
disease or renal insufficiency, etc.
- No current or past (within 1 year) major psychotic disorder
such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, etc.
- No planned epilepsy surgery within the next 6 months
- Not currently on the ketogenic diet
- No history of drug or alcohol abuse
- No pregnant or lactating women
If eligible, you will receive investigational drug and
study-related medical care at no cost. Compensation for time and
travel may also be available.
