CAMP Schizophrenia Study
The Schizophrenia Trials Network is currently conducting the
CAMP (Comparison of Antipsychotics for Metabolic Problems) study,
which is aimed at better understanding the risks and benefits
associated with antipsychotic use, especially with regard to the
physical health outcomes of people with psychotic disorders. It is
designed for people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder
who may be considering a medication change because of weight gain,
high cholesterol, or other health problems. All participants will
receive a medication that is FDA-approved for people with
schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. The study involves the
atypical antipsychotics Zyprexa, Seroquel, or Risperdal.
To be included in the study, participants
must:
- Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder,
Be 18-65 years old, and Be stable on Zyprexa, Seroquel, or
Risperdal
- Participants must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
