UVA Health System seeks men and women with COPD or Asthma and GERD-Acid Reflux with symptoms of coughing/wheezing for research study.
UVA Health System seeks men and women with COPD or Asthma and GERD-Acid Reflux with symptoms of coughing/wheezing for research study.
The purpose of this study is to learn if there are differences in the acidity of exhaled breath. The study involves a simple breathing test to be done at home over a two-five day period. The Do-It-Yourself sample kit with everything you need for eight samples is provided. Simply mail back the sample kit with the prepaid mail label back to our lab. Compensation is $10.00.
To quality you should:
Not be on proton-pump inhibitors (Nexium, Prilosec)
Not be on H2 antagonists (zantac, Pepcid)
Have COPD and/or Asthma
