Intravenous-Morphine and Glucagon-Usage Enhanced MR Cholangiography

Morphine can induce constriction of sphincter of oddi and glucagon can facilitate bile secretion and dilatation of bile duct. We conduct this randomized double blinded study to evaluate the effect of enhancement in MRCP using intravenous morphine and glucagon.

Quantitative Diagnosis of Fatty Liver by Dual Energy CT Technique

This study is proposed to explore the correlation between fatty content of fatty liver and the difference of CT attenuation value in men using dual-energy CT, and to set up a threshold for diagnosis of fatty liver.

Incisional Negative Pressure Wound Therapy for Preoperatively Irradiated Lower Extremity Soft Tissue Sarcoma Wounds

Postoperative surgical site infections pose a significant challenge to the orthopaedic oncologist, especially in wounds that have been previously irradiated with neo adjuvant external beam radiation therapy (EBRT). There are many studies demonstrating the relatively high risk of wound complications after lower extremity sarcoma resection. Published data suggest that these ...

Liver Fibrosis in HIV-Infected Patients With Elevated Liver Enzymes on Antiretroviral Therapy

At present, there are no clear guidelines as to when antiretroviral therapy for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection should be stopped in the setting of elevated liver enzymes. In large part, this is due to a limited understanding of the natural history of antiretroviral-related hepatotoxicity. Although several antiretrovirals have been ...

Vemurafenib in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Advanced Solid Tumors Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma or Histiocytic Disorders With BRAF V600 Mutations (A Pediatric MATCH Treatment Trial)

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: I. To determine the objective response rate (ORR; complete response + partial response) in pediatric patients treated with vemurafenib with advanced solid tumors (including central nervous system [CNS] tumors), lymphomas or histiocytic disorders that harbor activating BRAF V600 mutations. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: I. To estimate the progression free survival ...

Trial of Thoracic Epidural Analgesia Versus Four-Quadrant Transversus Abdominus Plane Block in Oncologic Open Liver Surgery

Study Groups: If you agree to take part in this study, you will be randomly assigned (as in the flip of a coin) to 1 of 2 groups. This is done because no one knows if one study group is better, the same, or worse than the other group. You ...

Long-term Outcomes of Chronic Hepatitis C Patients Post Sofosbuvir-based Treatment

Primary Endpoint: To evaluate the long-term event-free effect after sofosbuvir-based therapy, in terms of free of major liver events (including HCC, decompensation with ascites, variceal bleeding, hepatic encephalopathy, and liver-related mortality) in CHC patients. Secondary Endpoints: To evaluate hepatic fibrosis progression or regression in CHC patients after sofosbuvir-based therapy. To ...
