Rash or lesions on the skin due to lupus (CLE)

Detailed Study Description

A research study is evaluating an investigational medication for cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE).

This research study may be an option if you:

  • Are 18 to 75 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with CLE with or without a diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
  • Have at least one active discoid lupus erythematosus lesion (scaly patch typically on the face) or subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (rash on sun-exposed area of the body)
  • Have active CLE despite at least 3 months of topical corticosteroid or antimalarial use
  • Do not have any additional skin conditions, such as psoriasis or non-LE skin lupus
  • Do not have active lupus nephritis or chronic kidney disease
  • Are not taking more than 15mg/day of prednisone or have not been taking a stable dose of prednisone for at least one month
