Volunteers with a History of Unwanted Sexual Experiences Needed for a Research Study

Brief description of study

Have you ever experienced a highly stressful event involving unwanted sexual contact, or unwanted sexual activity while under the influence of drugs/alcohol? Do you find that you are still affected by that event?

For example, do you avoid situations that remind you of what happened, or have nightmares or unwanted memories? Do you blame yourself for the event? Do you feel emotionally or physically different since that event happened?

If so, you may be eligible to participate in a University of Kentucky research study evaluating patterns of emotions, thoughts, and physical feelings in individuals who have experienced these types of events.

This study involves:

  • One visit to our lab on the University of Kentucky campus, and
  • A two-week period of brief, daily questions focused on understanding your day-to-day thoughts and feelings related to past unwanted sexual experiences.

Participants will be compensated up to $93. Information is kept confidential.
