Attention: Individuals with Heart Failure and their Family Members

Detailed Study Description

Nurses at the University of Kentucky are conducting research about heart disease and salt consumption. We are inviting you to join a Family Sodium Watcher Program (FAMSWAP) study that might help people with heart failure reduce the amount of sodium (salt) they consume by participating in a diet along with a family member.

What will be asked to do?

  • Collect 24-hour urine specimens
  • Fill out questionnaires
  • Possibe participation in a 16-week education program using a mini-iPad
  • No visits to University of Kentucky HealthCare or Norton Healthcare
