Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Brief description of study

Seeking Participants with Type 2 Diabetes Treating with Medication.

Detailed Study Description

We are currently seeking volunteers who are diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and who are currently being treated with oral diabetes medications or basal insulin and at least one oral diabetes medication. This study is comparing an investigational basal insulin to Lantus insulin.  Half of the participants will be entered into a year-long study and will take the investigational basal insulin. The other half of the participants will be entered into a six-month study and will take Lantus insulin.  It will be open-label so you will know which insulin you are on. Participants are allowed to stay on their oral diabetes medications.  Participants must be willing to wear an Abbott Freestyle Libre Continuous Glucose Meter on their upper arm for 8 days on five separate periods.
