Biofilm Epidemiology and Mechanisms in Colon Cancer

Brief description of study

Biofilm Epidemiology and Mechanisms in Colon Cancer

Detailed Study Description

This research is being done to learn more about why people get colon cancer. We are looking to identify specific bacteria in the colon that may be linked to the development of colon cancer. We will look for these bacteria in the stool and in the pieces of tissue obtained from the colon. We are also looking for certain signs in the stool, urine, mouth swish, blood and tissue, that show which people may harbor these bacteria and which could tell us how this disease progresses.
