A Washington University research study seeks adults with and without major depression.

Detailed Study Description

Dr. Charles Conway will examine brain activity via MRI scans before and after inhalation of nitrous oxide. Participation includes 5 study visits that will last 2 to 5 hours each. There will be inhalation of nitrous oxide or placebo gas, MRI scans and mood assessments. Up to $150 is provided for time and effort. Risks and benefits will be discussed as part of the informed consent process (IRB # 201606120).
