Type 2 Diabetes - patients after an Acute Coronary Syndrome

Detailed Study Description

Winthrop University Hospital Clinical Trials Center is seeking volunteers 30 years and older who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and recently hospitalized with a coronary event. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an investigational drug in preventing cardiovascular events by lowering the blood sugar in patients with Type II diabetes.

Eligible participants will receive study-related medical examinations, research medication and laboratory tests at no cost, while they are participating in this research study. Compensation may be provided for time and travel.

To be eligible for the study, you must;

  • be over 30 years old
  • be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes
  • be diagnosed with cardiovascular disease such as heart attacks and stroke
