2008 Educational Conference
Join us on May 16, 2008 for the 2008 Clinical Research Educational Conference and Poster Session. This year the NUCATS Institute is pleased to welcome our plenary speakers Dr. Ezekiel Emanual from the National Institutes of Health as well as Dr. John Kessler from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research
Certificate in Clinical Trial Conduct and Certificate in Clinical Regulatory Affairs and Research Administration coming in 2008. The graduate certificates will be administered and awarded by the School of Continuing Studies as governed by the Graduate Faculty Advisory Board and the Provost. Advisory Board Lecture Series
Each month, educational lectures are presented by the various departments involved in clinical research at Northwestern and the surrounding community. Sponsored by the Advisory Council for Clinical Research at Northwestern University, these free lectures are a great resource for anyone interested in clinical research. The lectures are held on the third Friday of every month - mark your calendar!

Navigating the Clinical Research Maze
This course is for Northwestern University and affiliate employees only. Participants are introduced to all the offices involved in approving and facilitating research at Northwestern University and the McGaw Medical Campus, including Northwestern University's Institutional Review Board (IRB), the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC), Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences (NUCATS) Institute, and the Clinical Research Office (CRO) of the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center.

Learn about the role each office performs, what forms they require, how to contact them for questions, and how all the pieces of the approval process fit together. This seminar is a valuable orientation for new employees, new investigators, research staff, and all interested members of the Northwestern research community.

Pathways in Clinical Research(TM) CRC Basic Training: A Practical Introduction to the Clinical Research Coordinator Role.

This intensive course is designed for new coordinators or others who need a fast, thorough introduction to clinical research trial conduct, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), and the federal regulations governing research. Class size is limited to ensure individualized instruction. Participants will receive 24 hours of CE credit through the Illinois Nurses Association.

Discounted rates are available for employees of Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Children's Memorial Hospital, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, VA Lakeside Clinic, Prentice Women's Hospital, and Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.
