2002 MAR 11 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- CenterWatch
has launched a new printed reference resource designed to let
patients and professionals identify active clinical trials.
In association with the Physicians' Desk Reference, the directory
will be available through several thousand public and specialty
libraries throughout the United States. The distribution of
this first edition was supported by a grant from Amgen.
Along with background information on the clinical trial process
and a glossary of terms, the directory lists more than 7500
clinical trials that are actively seeking volunteers across
more than 600 diseases and conditions. The directory listings
will be updated quarterly.
"The directory was created due to overwhelming interest
from patients and professionals who prefer to do their research
off line," said Dan McDonald, director of CenterWatch database
and directory services.
CenterWatch is a subsidiary of the Medical Economics Company,
publishers of the Physicians' Desk Reference.
